Procedure: This workshop follows the Dresden mathematician Herbert Seifert into the world of the knot theory: the students crawl through a giant knot in the Adventureland Mathematics, examine knotted strings, create areas by dunking wire knots into soapsuds and construct the special so-called “Seifert-areas” out of paper.

The Adventureland Mathematics is part of a municipal technology museum: Technische Sammlungen Dresden.
The museum can easily be reached by car as well as by public transport, i.e., bus and tram. For the latter, the tram lines 4 and 10 and the bus line 61 are suitable. For further information you may want to consult the website of Dresden's public transportation DVB (currenly in German only). The bus and tram stops closest to the venue are named Pohlandplatz, Technische Sammlungen.
