You can teach with us!

Dresden's Math Adventure Land is a permanent participatory exhibition, providing "hands on" mathematics. The goal is to entertain visitors by mathematics and to thereby enkindle their interest in mathematical topics.

The exhibition is aimed at visitors of all ages, but of course pupils of all school types are a particularly important target group. Math Adventure Land is therefore prepared for visits by student groups (and we have many such visits).

Math Adventure Land offers many opportunities for experiencing mathematics in addition to and outside of the classroom. But it is not only a pleasant complement to school lessons. There also are a variety of relations with the mathematics curriculum. It is therefore quite possible to incorporate a visit to the Adventure Land in the classroom instructions.

However, Math Adventure Land is not a place for traditional classroom-style teaching. In our exhibition the playful experience and the joy of action is given priority over instruction and information. This is, of course beneficial for learning math, and pupils often discover topics in our exhibition that they know from school, and vice versa.

In co-operation with the Saxonian Ministry of Education some links between the exhibition and the state's school curriculum have been worked out. At present these documents are available in German only.
